Is reality tv catching your eye?

Lately for me, reality tv hasn’t been keeping my attention.  I find myself slipping in a DVD or reading a book instead of tuning into reality tv shows.  I am excited about this weeks Bachelorette, Monday night.  If you don’t remember the season when the Bachelor, Brad Womack chose NEITHER women - shame on you!  DeAnna Pappas (Brad rejected), a 26-year-old real estate agent has the chance of a lifetime to find her man.

Currently there are 12 men left and DeAnna gets closer and closer to finding the man of her dreams…hopefully.  We will find out next week if the tension grows or is dismissed by her choices made at the rose ceremony.

Who is left:

  • Ron
  • Sean
  • Twilley
  • Paul
  • Richard
  • Robert
  • Jeremy
  • Jesse
  • Fred
  • Graham
  • Jason
  • Brian (Texas)

CT Lawn Care is on their way!

So, as I had mentioned HERE on May 15th parts of my lawn is looking on yellowish-brown side.  As I had said before I had called, Southport lawn care, as well as Monroe lawn care.  I decided not to have anyone come and examine my problem until the pavers left my house.  Currently there is a rope blocking anyone to drive on my property.  In addition to the two Connecticut landscapers I called, I called New Canaan lawn care and Bethel lawn care to see which would be more convenient for them and me.

Now, the pavement is complete and dry enough to walk on, but not ready for cars yet.  Yesterday in the late afternoon I took Luke, my 20 week puppy, to play outside on the pavement.  He had so much room to run around because there were no cars.

Today is the first day in awhile where being outside today is a must!  Unfortunately having a 9-5 job limits the outdoor activities, but once 5 o’clock hits the sky is the limit.  I’m thinking about taking Luke to the park especially since I’m not 100% sure what is wrong with my lawn on why the color is far from green.

Have a great day everyone!

Is Jessica Biel Pregnant?

Supposedly, Justin Timberlake is missing his girl while he’s on tour with Madonna promoting 4-minute.  I heard on the radio that she has been seen staying not drinking alcohol, which has started a rumor of pregnancy.  Is she pregnant or not?

Neck Spasm can be a PAIN…LITERALLY

Working long hours hunched over a desk can cause major upper shoulder, back, and neck pain at the end of the day.  One does not take notice at the pain throughout the work day because (A) they don’t have time to recognize it or (B) it isn’t straining yet.

Two weeks was finals week for most of the colleges and universities around the country and studying BEGAN.  One of my classes required a final paper on top of a written exam.  The requirements were: apply what was taught throughout the semester, apply your opinions and knowledge gained through the material, single-spaced, and the kicker was 12-15 pages minimum!  I spent night and day at my desk working on the paper to the point where I was searching for any kind of back spasm treatment even though the pain was more towards my neck.  Just because it was hard to find neck spasm treatment until I came across Cramp911.

A good reality show that I would watch would be, “The Life of A College Student.”   It would film all the hassles that college puts on oneself and the life some college students lead outside of the classroom atmosphere.  The stress alone can cause tiredness, restlessness, which in turn could possibly effect neck spasms.

Randy Pausch The Last Lecture

If you haven’t heard of Randy Pausch yet, shame on YOU!

Randy Pausch is a professor at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania who was diagnosed with an aggressive form of pancreatic cancer.   In my eyes he is someone to look up to, his willingness and determination is incredible.  Before Randy found out about his disease he was asked to give a lecture; not just any lecture - “a last lecture.”  These were common lectures given to inspire students and visitors.

Randy then learned about his unfortunate diagnosis, he contemplated about giving his speech that he was determined to give.  He realized that he needed to give this “last lecture” for just that reason.  It was going to be HIS LAST LECTURE.  His last time to do what he loves, explain his feelings, give something back, make an imprint on the world, leave something behind for his very young children to remember him by.

If you missed the speech it is available on youtube and at the site linked below and worth the entire 70 minutes of your time.  You will laugh, cry, and truly be inspired.  I can GUARANTEE that.  He also has a website where he posts his day-to-day updates as frequently as he can.  He wrote a #1 best selling book about battling cancer.

I have personally started reading this book that I have been desperately trying to get at various bookstores and finally managed to get a copy.  Within the first two pages I was already in tears.  I am only 20 pages into the book and I predict many tears to come.  When I was at the particular bookstore where I purchased a copy it was still in the top 10 best sellers lists.

His story was on one of the major networks one night with Diane Sawyer and was indescribable about how moving it was.  His story has made a difference in my life.  I realize that there is always the chance that there may not be a tomorrow…and the saying “live like today was your last.”  But do people listen?  I will admit to in the past saying, “Oh I’ll get to it” or “I would love to go to Disney sometime down the road, but not now I’m too busy.”  Randy said that if he hasn’t done what he did by now that it really wasn’t important to him.

The Last Lecture should be watched throughout schools across the country, if it isn’t already.  I know that I was introduced to his story through my Leadership/Management class.  I will keep you updated on my thoughts regarding the book.

ADVICE: GO OUT & BUY IT!

Congrats all Grads!

This past weekend was many college and universities graduations.  The graduation I attended this past Saturday was amazing. The weather, the speakers, and the gathering of friends & family was impressive.   The past week was expected to be rainy all weekend.  The sky cleared for the morning of Saturday and grads marched to the end and the beginning of their continuation of education.

Sunday, the cover of the local newspaper had a picture of the grads on the lawn.  As my obsession of lawn over the past few months I was enthralled with the Connecticut landscaping.  The landscapers had spent hours before graduation prompting the seating arrangements, the stage, the flowers, etc.  Monroe lawn care, Redding lawn care, and Ridgefield lawn care are capable of making the outer appearance scenic for almost any if not all areas.

So, I would like to say congratulations to all the grads high school and college students.  Good luck in everything that life hands you in the future!

Reality TV Peer Pressure?!

Schools are now becoming more in tune with what “kids” are wearing these days to class. I think reality TV has some to do with what kids are wearing these days. They see what the celebrities are wearing and how much attention they get, especially young girls in my opinion. My younger sister’s high school is switching to uniforms starting next year. Personally I think this is a good idea. In the past there were suicides due to peer pressure and bullying and this is a step in the right direction and should have been done earlier.

Another rule at this high school is NO FLIP FLOPs. I always thought that rule was so annoying. When it gets warm out it is so easy just to slip on flip flops and go out. Especially now with all the cute ones out there. They even make crocodile flip flops!! Aren’t these the cutest flip flops ever??!! The rule no flip flops at my sister’s high school was due to safety issues? I think I would risk it — I mean what exactly is going to happen. People where flip flops all the time.

Lawn turning yellowish brown - Lawn Help

Last week construction workers came to pave my driveway and 5 days later they are still working! This is because of all the rain we’re having EVERY day! Today is one of the nicest days out so hopefully they get head start. I have been parking my car on the grass and with it sitting there every day and night in all the rainy weather the grass today appeared to be on the yellowish side.

It is true to when people say your lawn is the first thing people see when they come to your house and the last thing they see when they leave. It’s good to make a good impression. Unfortunately now I have to deal with some yellow grass. Yes, this might sound a little particular, but if I don’t take care of it now I will never. Procrastination is a horrible habit of mine and I try to overcome it as often as possible. I called Southport lawn care and Monroe lawn care and it sounds like my procrastination will not begin now! Friends had told me how credible this CT lawn service has over nine years of experience. So I’m sure some yellow grass is not a big deal to fix.

Normally I would take care of household issues on my own, but I’m sure it would be cheaper and a less hassle to hire a professional than attempt to do it myself.
