Seniors take their last stroll on the field…

By now many schools are out for the summer!  Students are off to their summer jobs and “hanging out” with friends.  In my personal opinion this would be the time for MTV to air new reality tv shows.  Students are off for the summer, which means late nights with friends equaling GOSSIP/REALITY TV SHOWS!  The high school that I graduated from 3 years ago this month was lucky to have a beautiful day out on the football field commemorating the 2008 senior class.

Not only was the day warm and breezy, perfect for graduation, but the lawn looked as green as could be. …and it should for all the maintenance.  There is a track around the football field (like many schools) and last year in the Fall 2007 it came to attention that the rain water that was sinking into the ground and going underneath the track and lifting the cement up, hence creating damage…expensive damage.  This drainage problem caused the grass to turn and create a pool of water going underneath and resting at the surface, giving the lawn the appearance of a “pool” on top.  It caused problems when track meets were to be held in the Spring because the track was uneven and all the repairs couldn’t be successfully made during the winter.

I was remembered of graduation yesterday when I went over to my old high school and ran a few laps around the track.  The infield looked like it had just been mowed and no one was down at the field…I’m not sure who worked on the football field when the school was having the lawn and track problems but the results are spectacular and well worth every penny.  Whomever did it did just as good job as when Monroe lawn care, Fairfield lawn care, and Redding lawn care when I was doing the research for respectable Connecticut landscaping.

A friend of the family graduated this past Friday and had her graduation part Saturday.  And to no surprise the sun was out in the morning and then down poured the entire night.  It seems like whenever anything big or something planned is outdoors either (A) it’s too cold out or (B) it’s RAINING.  I might complain about what damage rain does either to my garden if it’s excessive or any planned activities, but I know that it would be better to have rain than none at all.
