About Marley and Me Plot
Marley and Me is about a couple that get married and then the wife, Jenny, starts getting the urge of wanting a baby. John (husband) is not ready for this part of the “plan,” sooo he decides to purchase a lab puppy. The puppy, who he lady names Marley was the cheapest puppy out of the litter. In the movie it was never clear to why he was cheapest, either because the breeders knew he was bad or he was the runt of the bunch. Either way Jenny and John frequently called, Marley the “Clearance Puppy.”
Although Marley was difficult to train, he was still part of their family. Jenny and John were both employed by newspapers as journalist. John began basing his columns on Marley and Jenny. Years were passing and life was going well. Jenny and John had a child…and another…and another. The family consisted of two boys 1 girl and 1 Marley.
As the movie went on the audience began to have connection with Marley, realizing the every pet is unique and special to each family. Everyone in the audience came to reality as the movie went on and saw Marley slowly aging. Unfortunately Marley became getting sick and the only option John and Jenny had was putting him to sleep, which would be the most comfortable way for him to go. The moment John was in the vet office was the most emotional and touching part of any movie I’ve ever seen. I have never felt so emotionally attached to something in a film before.
As I fought tears I listened to the silence in the audience and all I heard was sniffles of the people all around me. I recommend this movie everyone! This is a great movie for families…GO OUT AND SEE IT WHILE IT’S IN THEATERS!!
